When I picked up 'Rook' I just knew I had to finish the series when I got even as little as fifty pages into it, but when I hit 'The Terror' I started to wonder could I go on. Essentially the book's got a very good storyline, but it just doesn't seem to get going. Very much in the same style as 'Tooth and Claw' - monster only Rook can see going on the rampage that just happens to be controled by one of his students - it does seem to be treading over old ground. Also, for readers who pay close attention, many details from the previous books have been confused, altered and in some cases even changed. The result is a book which is only semi-entertaining, inconsistant with the previous books in the series and has a rather predictable and unsatisfying ending. But don't let this put you off. It gives a bit of a background to the forth book 'Snowman' which is by far the best in the series, so stick with it and the future book in the series hold your rewards.
