Product Description

From the Author
Romiette and Julio promises to thrill teen readers!
Romiette and Julio is an updated, modernized, humorous version of Shakespeare's tale. The two young lovers meet on the Internet. They discover they go to the same high school and sparks fly when local gangs oppose their romance. Romiette's best friend, Destiny (who checks her horoscope daily), and Julio's best friend Ben (a boy with blue hair) are caught in the excitement. Will the story end like Shakespeare's story? Or will the two young lovers be saved in time? --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!, 7 April 2006
By Angela (United States) - See all my reviews
I loved this book so much! If you too love romance, humor, and adventure, I'm sure you will love it too. It was so good that once I started reading it I couldn't or should i say wouldn't put it down. If you love to read books about teens like yourself in situations that can and may really happens I suggest and recommend you read this book! It has now become by favorite book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, and not particularly like Romeo and Juliet, 22 April 2002
By A Customer
I read this book because I thought it might be as romantic as Romeo and Juliet, but it was a little disappointing. The author refers a bit too much to the Romeo and Juliet parallel, when actually there is very little that echoes Shakespeare's play apart from the characters' names. The characters feel under-developed, and the potentially most romantic moments were talked about after the event - like the lovers' first meeting, which Romiette writes in her diary about, rather than the author showing how it actually happened - which became annoying. There seemed to be lots of repititious episodes, which got a bit preachy. However, I did feel compelled to finish the book, and found the ending quite exciting.
