Product Description

A tale of star-crossed lovers with a difference, Sabine Bernardi's richly textured ode to teenage love takes a fresh and unique look at a romantic encounter that transcends boundaries.

When 20-year-old Lukas arrives in Cologne, a summer of late nights, clubs heaving with hot guys and insurmountable self-discovery awaits. You see, Lukas has a heavy secret that he has chosen to leave behind, and best friend Ine knows this too well. Like most young adults their age, the pair indulge in parties and alcohol with abandon, helping Lukas to overcome what makes him different from everyone else.

However, when hunky neighbourhood catch Fabio appears, a heated attraction between the two boys gradually develops - until Fabio accesses the secret of Lukas's identity. Despite their differences, will love conquer all?

5.0 out of 5 stars A dazzling star in the firmament 23 July 2012
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
It is not easy to talk about complex issues such as transsexuality without falling into stereotypes, but this film fails to address the crudity of the injury and the pain it generates, and the gentleness and delicacy of love. Yet the film is a perfect balance, showing how painful is the path that leads us to accept ourselves for who we are and above all to break the wall of prejudice and fear that tends to isolate those who are different. A movie not to be missed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow. 11 Feb 2012

Format:DVD
I have a hard time finding movies I like, and this was a chance find that seemed rather interesting. It exceeded EVERY expectation I had, and is now one of my favourite films. I won't go into detail, as I don't want to spoil it but a LOT of issues to do with transgender etc is covered here. It's something different to all other films and covers the information the way a documentary would- but with the romance of Lukas and Fabio. It really is an exceptional film and will keep you enthralled to the last second. I HIGHLY recommend this to EVERYONE. You honestly are sat here, hoping and praying it works out between Fabio and Lukas- You just get so sucked in!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good job Mr. Director 10 Jun 2012
Format:DVD
I have seen "Romeos" on a screen in a small cinema and was quite impressed as I didn't think it would be such a good flick. I am not very into transgender cinema, so it's only a second film I saw in this matter. The first will be amazing "Transamerica".
"Romeos" is a story about intolerance and fight against it, about seeking for love, about the importance of friendship. The story has no flows and all actors did great job. What do you need more?
Two thumbs up.
