Can the Greatest of Enemies Become the Greatest of Lovers?

WHY ROMEO HATES JULIET is a romantic comedy about Juliet Soma, a stressed-out romance writer who has a deadline to meet but she has developed a major case of writer’s block and hasn’t been able to write anything in months. To help her relax, her sister takes her to a secluded beach house on Prince Edward Island in Canada. Much to her surprise, it works—until the neighbors show up!

Some would say that A-list, movie star Romeo Boyd is washed up in Hollywood. But bad boy Romeo doesn’t care. He’d much rather party—and party loud. So he decides to take his entourage of friends and head out to his beach house on Prince Edward Island, a place he’s never vacationed at until now.

Unfortunately, neither Romeo nor Juliet get what they want. Instead, they get each other! Stubborn and a fighter to the bitter end, Juliet clashes with her noisy neighbor and an epic war begins, with each playing pranks on the other, neither of them giving an inch, and both of them fighting the intense attraction sizzling between them.

The battle escalates, until one day, Juliet accidentally shoots him. When Romeo comes to, to Juliet’s horror, he has amnesia and believes that she is his wife. But does he really? No, of course not! He’s just faking it and using all of his Hollywood acting skills to get his payback on her. But how far is Romeo prepared to go, especially when he finds his heart melting towards her? And how far will Juliet take things when she discovers what he's really been up to? Will true love win out in the end for both of them?

WHY ROMEO HATES JULIET is an epic, emotional rollercoaster ride filled with twists & turns and highs & lows, spanning an entire summer at the beach. Just when you think one thing will happen, something else does. And when you think it’s all over, it suddenly isn’t. Be prepared to have fun, laughs, surprises, shocks and maybe even a few tears as you live a lifetime with all of the back and forth drama between feuding neighbors, Romeo & Juliet.

Word Count: 163,184 - WARNING: THIS IS A LOOOONG NOVEL! It was written for all the grand readers in the world who crave epic tales of love. You know who you are!

Note from the Author:

When creating this story, I was fascinated with the themes of love & war. I wanted to explore how a silly little thing like a neighbor playing their music too loud can end up with someone almost getting killed. I mean, seriously—how does that happen??? But I firmly believe that, with love and understanding, differences can be overcome, and even the greatest of enemies can become the greatest of lovers… because in the end, love heals all. Anna Mara

Anna Mara is also the author of the bestselling romantic comedy novel, HER PERFECT REVENGE.

I read Anna Mara's first book and enjoyed it so much I could not wait for her new book. I have now been lucky enough to read Why Romeo Hates Juliet.

Again, this book did not disappoint, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The book was sooo funny, some of the scenes were so hilarious and had me laughing out loud and I couldn't wait to turn the pages or in my case click next page on the Kindle. I love her style of writing; the descriptions in the books before something outrageous is about to happen makes you giggle in anticipation and then you just have to laugh out loud. I would quite happily sit in a corner and read these books from cover to cover and I have been known to re-read them.

I think Romeo and Juliet is fun and lighthearted whilst having some heart wrenching moments. The characters and events are depicted in such a way as to make you feel that it could, or has been, a scenario you have been in. Although hopefully not as outrageous as Juliet and Romeo.

I am an avid fan of Anna's books and her style of writing and in my opinion her books do not come fast enough. Carry on Anna - from the moment I open your books, they deliver what you promise, which is fun, humour and entertainment, which in turn makes me feel uplifted and happy. I always look forward to the next page and am disappointed when the book ends.

Can't wait for the third one.

Dissapointed or what! 26 Mar 2012

I read a variety of book genres. I would normally go for this type of book as light relief from the more intense crime / thrillers I normally enjoy. I am male but do enjoy the odd chic-lit rom-com novel. This book was painfully predictable, boring, repetitive and poorly written to the point of being annoying. I persevered through to about 75% and finally gave in and ditched it from my Kindle. The author should get a thesaurus to avoid repetition of adjectives and adverbs and should maybe have read the novel back to herself before publishing. There are passages which just felt that they were space filling cut and pasted pieces from earlier sections of the book. There are laborious page after page of uneccessary descriptions of simple passages of foreplay which add absolutely nothing to the story line. The story line is string of contrived events with oh so predictable outcomes. Sorry but I could not recommend this to anyone at all except maybe to someone to use as a poor literary example on so many counts. Not even entertaining.
