A quick perusal of the book description may lead you to believe this book is contemporary romance or chick lit. That's part of the story, but not all. There may be something for a man here too.

Julie Burns is under pressure from her mother, friends, and the constant clicking of the clock. She decides if she's ever going to marry and have a family it must happen soon. It's a numbers game anyway. Just meet and date enough men and surely she'll uncover Mr. Right.

Everyone will enjoy the humor of "Romantically Challenged." As a bonus men can learn two valuable lessons. First, look at the reasons Julie eliminates each man. If you never see yourself in any of the rejects you aren't looking hard enough. Second, Julie will confirm what you've always suspected. "I'll never understand women."

I've just finished this book and really enjoyed it. I am a massive fan of this genre and there's nothing I hate more than a so-so rom com/chick lit read. I am pleased to say this one did not disappoint and I would recommend it to both die hard fans and newcomers to the genre. While you always know roughly what you're geting when you read this type of book, this one stands out from the crowd because it isn't over cliched or padded out with steamy bedroom scenes and the plot is very believable- many people will relate to Julie's lovelife. The ending in the book is rather abrupt, but the epilogue on the authors website ties up a few loose ends and rounds the story off nicely so make sure you read that bit too. I will definitely be buying more from this author soon!

This is a great story that drags you in from the very first page. The heroine (Julie) is a real woman who is in her early 30's and worrying about never finding Mr Right. Although the story is a classic chick lit theme it is very well done and the author does a great job of making Julie likeable and her dates believable.

The book is also a good meaty read at nearly 8000 locations (on default text size) so it is an absolute bargain book too. My only complaint would be that there could have been a little bit more 'frisson' between the 2 main characters and it does end rather abruptly. The author has written an epilogue which can be viewed on her website.
