5.0 out of 5 stars True Love is Blind and knows No Color...And These Two M.D's Prove IT! 19 Sept. 2011

Maureen, Maureen, Maureen! All I can say is OMG x 2!!! WOW!! A must read!!! It is the 3rd book in the Hopewell General Series, and it is the best and my favorite in this series thus far! Maureen outdid herself in this book! Tell me, can two outstanding high IQ Doctors love, compliment, but live without each other???? I think NOT!!!Totally HOT and full of LOVE and ROMANCE, with a twist of future Mother-in-Law drama who needs a reality check in diversity! LOL!!! I guess she didn't get the memo that "True Love" knows no color, ethinicity or race! The steam truly heats up the pages and magnifies this love and romance beyond the imagination! Maureen totally outdid herself and put her whole mind, soul, and body in this BOOK! WOW!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The ultimate Love/hate relationship 17 Sept. 2011

I love everything about this book aside from the ending... that seemed rushed.

the character build up was awesome. you could feel the anger for them when they fought and the passion when they... well, you know.

and the sex sceens... let's just say I almost broke my vow of celibacy! they were scorching! I actually past out from heat stroke three times!

get this book. the book was worth every penny and more.
Tamara and Victor had a love for the ages. I wish the book never ended

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read 12 Oct. 2011

It is rare that we see interracial stories from Kimani Romance, so this was a pleasant surprise, especially coming from one of my fav's Maureen Smith. The storyline was so good, and of course it had super hot love scenes. The conflict and attraction between Tamara and Victor was on point, and very entertaining. I especially liked the way Maureen tackled the race issue. Usually it is a black/white issue, but in this case it was a Colombian/Black issue with the Victor's Colombian mother having an issue with Tamara being black. It was just a really welcomed change, and I hope Kimani Romance starts to push through more of these types of stories. I am and always will be a huge fan of AA romance, but it is good to read a variety of books and this one is definitely a must read.

4.0 out of 5 stars A real romance novel. 3 Oct. 2011

This book was pure romance. Victor knew he wanted Tamara and he went after her with his heart on his sleeve. Their chemistry was on fire, in and out of the bedroom! They are a perfect match with Victor being somewhat of a maverick and Tamara being the girl who plays by the book. Anything is possible with these two.

I am glad Smith did not go the route of a simple misunderstanding and then the couple goes weeks or months miserable without each other. This was a romance filled with passion, love, tenderness and oh so good loving.

Maureen Smith has touched on the sensitive subject of interracial dating and it's not always black and white (pun intended). Victor's mom was not so happy about her son dating a black women because she would rather see her son with a Colombian girl. I was appalled at some of the things she was saying to Tamara; but of course Tamara held her own.

I took away one star because I felt that the ending was too rushed. When I got to the end I was literally looking for the rest of the story. It wasn't a bad ending but I wanted more!

4.0 out of 5 stars Romancing the M.D. 6 Oct. 2011
By Toni Campbell - Published on
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Tamara St. John is a busy intern at Hopewell General, working long hours, making a name for herself and loving every minute of it. But her colleague, Victor Aguilar, seems intent on not making anything easy for her. The two constantly bicker and argue over patient care and just about anything else and everyone around them notices.

But it seems that underneath all that animosity is a desire for each other that neither is ready for...especially since hospital rules forbid it. Another impediment is that they are from different countries and cultures and that may prove to be a problem.

This entry in the Hopewell General summer series, like the earlier two, is another example of two people who are forced to decide if their love is strong enough to risk losing everything they've worked so hard for. I will be sad to see this series end.
