The Roman Mysteries Omnibus 1 is about four children who are detectives and help, save and capture. They are so young but are seem old enough to rescue lives.

The good thing is you can read to the next one instead having a few separate books when all three are all in one. The mysteries are really good, they seem real. At first I thought maybe not but actually it is really good. I would love to give it more stars.

I don't belive anything can be improved. I really enjoyed these books, they really are superb.

With a rrp of £10 this book, with the first three Roman Mysteries combined into one volume, is an ideal christmas present for a child who loves to read.
The books included in this omnibus take the four friends, Flavia, jonathon, Nubia and Lupus on a thrilling adventure as they foil the plans of Ostia's latest villain, a dog killer, escape the deadly erruption of Mount Vesuvius and battle against a troupe of sinister pirates.
A must have for kids of all ages. Not only does it provide an exciting read, but teaches children about the Roman lifestyle in such a way that kids wont see it as learning. Learning, they'll think, couldnt possibly be this good!

For those who have never read any of The Roman Mysteries by Caroline Lawrence, this is a great place to begin.

Here the first three books have been combined in one title:

1. THE THIEVES OF OSTIA

The first book sets the scene of how life was like in the tumultuous 1st century AD. The main character Flavia finds the friends that are to accompany her on their first adventure

2. THE SECRETS OF VESUVIUS

The second book begins with Jonathan, Flavia, Lupus and Nubia staying at Flavia's uncle's farm. That sounds fine...except the year is 79 AD and they are near Mount Vesuvius before it blows. Animals act strangely and birds mysteriously die as a warning of what is about to come. Added to that children are also going missing. Flavia and the others get firmly engaged into discovering what is really going on and in saving people from the volcano when it finally explodes.

3. THE PIRATES OF POMPEII

Just as with modern disasters, refugees from the eruption at Pompeii find themselves aving to find shelter in refugee camps. The young heroes also have to deal with a mystery as to why children are going missing.

The three books are well researched and great entertainment .
