Product Description

Product Description

This hand operated pulling machine is designed to move the heaviest of materials that are physically impossible to budge with just your bare hands. It’s ideal for moving all sorts of vehicles, such as those that have become stuck in the mud or snow. Maybe a tree has fallen over and is blocking your way, which now needs to be removed to get passed. A device like this is ideal to keep in the car or in the garage so you always have a way to move those obstructions and get yourself out of trouble. The Rolson 42554 heavy duty hand puller has been manufactured from hardened and galvanized heavy gauge steel for extra strength and rigidity needed when pulling along heavy materials. This hand puller has two drop forged safety catch hooks for all those heavy loads that need to be held securely. It has a single frame construction with heavy duty frame bolts and a 360 degree hanging bracket which gives you more movement so allows you to use it at different angles. The ratchet arm has a length of 406mm and the aircraft cable is precisely 2.28 meters (10 feet) long. This particular puller is hand operated and has a pulling capacity of 2 tones (4000lbs).

Bought this to winch tree roots out. It works perfectly, but is a little fiddly to use, and only has a short operating length, so if one needs a long pull, you need to secure the load, reset the wire, and re winch. For longer pulls a block and tackle might suffice, but they are not as neat and compact as this device. It lives in the back of my 4x4 ready for use.
For the cost and specification, it does what it should. Would buy it again.

A complete piece of useless excremental steel. No instructions, and it is impossible to release the cable. Even the country of origin is missing! No one would admit making such a pile of rubbish, DO NOT TOUCH this item.

Has anyone else had problems releasing the wound cable on this item? It seems you have to hold both the locking double gear (difficult) and the other "brake" on the underside. This at least has a finger plate. By doing this and pulling on the cable (hook end) it seems as though the spool should release. However mine doesn't. If I can get this to unwind, then wind with no issues it has the potential to be very useful.
