These are manufactured by Bulldog tools.
I used to own a pair, then lost them. Since then I have had 3 pairs of cheap secateurs as gifts, and they have been universally terrible.
These secateurs are absolutely excellent. The handles are strong aluminium castings, with robust rubberised over grips for comfort. The blades are high carbon steel, keep an edge well and prune beautifully. They are super sharp on arrival. A little drop of oil on them after use will keep them rust free. The blades meet well throughout the full cut, so no annoying little uncut bits left after the cut.
The spring is well housed, and they make a lovely sound as you use them. They just feel excellent.
The catch to keep them closed can be folded inwards out of the way when in use, to prevent the handles snagging together.
These are absolutely fantastic, especially given the reasonable price, and you are buying from a UK company. Just sad I lost the original ones (which were exactly the same, but had the advantage of no scribed "alan titshmarh" engraved on them...I'm not a big fan of endorsements).
