5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent secateurs. Good choice 11 Mar 2010
I needed a really good pair of secateurs for spring pruning. Well known brands have too much choice and are expensive but I found these on a gardening link and a short video with Alan Titchmarsh himself demonstrating them. In the medium price range, and they arrived quickly as promised and look sleek and work beautifully slicing through all twigs with ease without hurting my hands. All I have to do is not lose them - wish I had bought a leather holder.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Alan T winner-excellent value for money 12 May 2010
I bought these secateurs because I trust both Bulldog who manufacture them and Alan T who has put his name to them. They represent absolutely excellent value for money, are sharp, and easy and comfortable to use.

Obviously well made with quality steel. Close fitting blades. Should be tough enough to last. Good price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alan gives Good Grip! 10 Nov 2010
I'm not a fan of Al Titchmarsh's work in general, but I love these secateurs. Having small hands, I often have a problem getting a comfortable grip with mansize garden tools, but these are shaped and sized just right. Nice and sharp too with a nifty safe locking clip, I find them the best secateurs I've used to date.

4.0 out of 5 stars Alan Titchmarsh Secateurs 7 Dec 2010
Verified Purchase
A medium size pair of by-pass secateurs that fit nicely in the hand. Very sharp blades cut well. My only point that stops me giving 5 stars is the clip that keeps the blades together when not in use is situated at the ends of the handles. This tends to get in the way at times, otherwise a good pair of secateurs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality 18 April 2012

These are manufactured by Bulldog tools.

I used to own a pair, then lost them. Since then I have had 3 pairs of cheap secateurs as gifts, and they have been universally terrible.

These secateurs are absolutely excellent. The handles are strong aluminium castings, with robust rubberised over grips for comfort. The blades are high carbon steel, keep an edge well and prune beautifully. They are super sharp on arrival. A little drop of oil on them after use will keep them rust free. The blades meet well throughout the full cut, so no annoying little uncut bits left after the cut.

The spring is well housed, and they make a lovely sound as you use them. They just feel excellent.

The catch to keep them closed can be folded inwards out of the way when in use, to prevent the handles snagging together.

These are absolutely fantastic, especially given the reasonable price, and you are buying from a UK company. Just sad I lost the original ones (which were exactly the same, but had the advantage of no scribed "alan titshmarh" engraved on them...I'm not a big fan of endorsements).
