I bought this single as digital download a few days ago and after a few listens it has lodged itself in my head. The melodies in this gorgeous track are laced with subtle little fishing hooks; little barbs that stick in your brain. Perfect little vocal harmonies crop up and transport you back to the good ol' days of British song writing. Lennon/McCartney, Ray Davies, Marriott/Lane et al... are all represented here...and the progression continues, clear hints of 90s Britpop run through this track, it's the younger brother of Ocean Colour Scene's Day We Caught The Train (summer sun condensed into a 3-4 minute pop song), and the song writing craft of Noel Gallagher... Rolling Stone is all its influences and more... there's a singer-songwriter here that's ready to burst out all over the radio and album charts. I'm excited to hear what he does next...
