Fun:
Having owned RCT 3 for the PC, I decided to get myself a copy of the Mac version now that I've moved computers. Unfortunately, what Aspyr or Apple (who sell the game in their retail store) won't tell you is that the game was coded for Power PC processor Mac's - not Intel ones. This means that if you've bought an Intel Mac since the transition around 6 years ago, this game is akin to being a bug-ridden mess.

Whats more infuriating is that this game is continuing to being sold by Apple without warning for Intel users. Even playing the game via BootCamp/VM Ware Fusion/Parallels/will result in similar glitches, making it almost unplayable.

Avoid at all costs. Hopefully though, a Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 will arrive in the future that is coded directly for Intel. The game itself would be a 5-star product as I've spent many happy years playing it on PC.

Fun:
Even with the 1.2 Rev A update, this game does not function properly on a new Mac Pro Quad Core. Worked fine on G4, but after upgrading my system, suddenly have all kinds of crashes, slowness and other issues making gameplay impossible. Would not recommend this until these problems are sorted in an update.

Doesn't Work 1 Jun 2010
Fun:
Check out the system requirements this game doesn't run on most graphics cards annoyingly. I've got a 24" iMac 2.8GHz which I thought put me nicely over the requirements but even in the lowest possible graphics settings (800X600) and no detail whatsoever this game is still completely un-useable. Crashes are routine and construction is far to slow. The graphics actually render quite well but the second you try to build anything the whole thing just freezes up. Shame because it looks like quite a good game otherwise. The gameplay of RCT3 is a slight improvement on the first version but not by much, the graphics, however, are a massive improvement, proper 3D rendering with a choice of viewing modes. Just a shame it doesn't work, look around and read the reviews for some people on older PPC macs the game runs fine but for intel macs like mine it just doesn't work at all. Damned shame, i'll have to dig out my old copy of RCT1 and 10 year old PC for now.
