Excellent all round practice kit,

This review is from: Roland TD4K V-Drum Kit
I've had my Roland electronic drum kit for around 3 years now and I still love it, have never had any issues with it and the build quality is spot on, they've taken some hammer believe me!
The kit itself is very compact and can easily fit in an average medium/large sized bedroom. It is relatively easy to set up, took me around 20 minutes, but once it is setup you can literally pick the entire thing up and move it around with ease, it really doesn't weigh a great deal at all. Plug it in, bang in some headphones and play away! Alternatively connect to an amp designed for drums and crank them up for an even more realistic experience. Plus you can plug in your mp3 player and jam along to your favourite song if you wish. The kit looks great, and the mesh snare gives it that more authentic look and feel. Because the kits are mostly black they show a lot of dust easily, and they are a pain to clean as there are so many nooks and crannies, but that's definitely no reason to be put off buying one. There are loads of pre-set drum kits and drum sounds, and you can create your very own unique kit with your preferred kick, snare, toms, cymbal sounds for the perfect kit. Whether it be for playing metal, jazz or pop this kit has it all. There isn't really a bad thing about these kits, only one slight niggle if I'm being really picky and that's when you perform a roll on the snare, you can tell it isn't a real snare, it is almost spot on but it just doesn't quite sound convincing enough to pass as a real snare. Other than that the kit is spot on and will help you become a decent drummer without needing the space for a real kit. Another bonus is the noise, obviously you can turn it down so you can't annoy your neighbours... too much, (there is still some light tapping to be heard through walls, but compared to a real kit it's nothing at all) If you have a spare £800ish and have fancied learning to play drums for a while then look no further. A Roland kit could be just what you're looking for. No it's not cheap, and yes there are plenty of cheaper alternatives out there, but Rolands are probably the best electric kits out there. If you're still unsure then you could always find a local drum store and test one out prior to buying. Thanks for reading.

Really good.,

I've had my kit for about a week now and I'm just starting to feel properly comfortable with it. It has surprised me just how quiet it is to use, and how good the kits sound through headphones. Only thing I would pick fault with is the limited amount of editing available for the sounds in the brain, but that's just being fussy.
Overall it's quick and easy to set up, sounds like a drum kit, and I can practice quietly without annoying the neighbours. Ace.
