I'd been warned about this movie, so went in expecting the worst. Was I in for a surprise, or what? Turns out it's not that bad at all!
Sure, it follows the basic "creature attack" plot. As always, there's a group of people who are singled out by a predator and are hunted down until a minimal amount of 'em survive. In this case, they're tourists who are being preyed on by a giant crocodile.
Naturally you expect something slightly predictable, as so many movies follow the same guidelines, so there's no real surprise as far as that's concerned. But unlike Lake Placid 2 or 3 (the latter of which was slightly more tolerable than the second instalment), the crocodile actually looks great. It's been rendered really well, and the actual model looks good too. The acting was good, and the shots of the surroundings (the Australian landscape as well as the wildlife) were breathtakingly beautiful, and really came to life on Blu-ray.
There are tons of movies out there in which a creature attacks a bunch of people. If you're up for watching one with a crocodile in it, I'd definitely recommend this one.
