I bought one of these from Argos (there are more reviews on there, so check it out) three weeks ago and I have to say it is a great little machine. There is no adjustment for the tension, but you don't really need it, as the faster you try to row, the higher the tension becomes due to the fan.
I use it everyother day for 25 minutes of interval training, nice easy 50 strokes at about 1 every 3 seconds and then a blast of 50 as fast I can do them, until I get to 600... you certainly work up a sweat.
Obviously not sure about how long it will last, but it seems well built and sturdy. Does have a tendancy to tip, if your weight comes off the seat when going towards the fan at a speed, but just make sure you don't.
Definitely can recommend it as a great little addition to any home gym.

I bought one of these from Argos today. Spent about 90 mins assembling it, the made a single pull test and an essential part of it snapped. It is now totally unusable.
Returning it tomorrow, which means I now have to completely disassemble it and carry the heavy, awkward box for about 5 minutes from the carpark to the shop - so at least I will get some sort of work out from it. I will not be getting another one.
