I just love the music on the CD. Rodrigo y Gabriela are like mexican J. S. Bach on guitars ;-) Modern one of corse. I really enjoy it!

I was introduced to Rodrigo and Gabriella by one of my students who showed me a clip of their performance of 'Vikingman' at Glastonbury on YouTube (well worth a look by the way) and was blown away by the inventiveness, pasion and energy these two artists communicate through their music. Amazing to think that what you hear is largely the product of just two people. This is a great album which appeals on lots of levels, but most importantly it is just great to listen to. Seems to appeal to all ages - 'Vikingman' is a firm favourite with my 6 year old, whilst my 12 year old is an advocate of 'Diablo Roja'! Wholeheartedly recommended.

Format:Audio CD
Ace mexican flamenco guitarists, this duo perform lightening fast guitar that is miles away from what you might think of as traditional mexican music.Mostly their own excellent compositions, but with a great cover of Stairway to Heavan.Gradually attracting a growing and well deserved following. Broadly categorised I suppose as World Music, their sound is a pacy update of the flamenco tradition.
Originally into trash metal, though you wouldnt think so listening to this, apart from the super fast playing, they moved from Mexico to Dublin, where they busked. Playing gigs in local venues (Mexicans in Ireland - what a brilliant mix) they began to attract a following through there amazing arrqangements and playing.
On this album they are just the two, and there are no vocals. Despite that, the sound is never less than full and deep. Every track a winner. Apparently they are botyh vegans - you wouldnt think so given the well fleshed out sound they deliver.
Apparently they are EVEN better live.
