Instead of rivets, this is held together with screws with locking nuts on, but the screws are too long, so there is play on some of the legs where they connect to the main shaft. Also, the turn clamps that grip the pole when extended feel cheap and arent quite fitted in their holes properly. All of which makes the whole thing feel a little less robust than it would if attention had been paid to these details, which in turn would have made it a superb buy.

I'm very impressed with the standard of manufacture of this item. Very ruggedly built. I've had only one problem with it. When fitting a background sheet I found it impossible to run the horizontal support through the "loop" on the top of the sheet (which I reckon is of normal size). The fitting that connects the horizontal rod to the vertical stand is too big to go through the loop. My solution was to temporarily remove the fitting to allow the threading of the sheet onto the rod. Somewhat inconvenient but I worked round it. Recommended.

Just received my Rocwing Super heavy weight background support. Came in two packages, which seemed to be comprised of any old boxes or cardboard that could be found lying around on the warehouse floor. One piece of the packaging was a box of syringes in its previous life? Slightly weird. It was reasonably well packaged with lots of cardboard and tape used, but no bubble wrap was used despite the packaging being marked "fragile". I unwrapped it and put the support together and it is undoubtedly heavy duty and sturdy. But I could not help thinking it was second hand. There were various small relatively insignificant marks on the equipment. Nothing enough to effect its funcionality but they just gave the impression that it was not brand spanking new. The support struts were flimsy and had little dents here and there, and were also sharply edged, so much so I took a slice out of a finger, and added some claret to proceedings. First impressions of build are therefore varied. Very reassuringly heavy but quality of finish marginal. The real shame is that it feels like used goods which is a worry in case someone has returned it because of a flaw. I will not return it just yet until properly tested. If it operates ok I can live with the used feel of it, but it is nevertheless disappointing. Glad it wasn't a gift. Potential buyers beware.

Received the stand today and was immediately impressed with the quality. Very robust and well made item worth the slightly higher price compared to some stands. Would recommend.
