4.0 out of 5 stars Great, if only they had all the songs...., 11 April 2001

The Australian cast of the Rocky Horror Show kicked arse, I LOVED their version of Rose Tint My World, it was even better than the original Roxy cast or the movie!! And Reg Levermore's Sweet Transvestite was to die for! I just wish they had the full score for the show, I would love to see what they did with Science Fiction Double Feature, Superheroes, Toucha Toucha Touch Me (especially with the MARVELOUS Janet they had), and Charles Atlas Song (along with a lot of other RHS songs, but this isn't a review to test my Rocky knowledge, now is it?). What I liked the most is that with a lot of musicals I've noticed if I get a cast recording from the 70s, the actors seem a little more inhibited than in a revival cast. But with this one, they just said "to heck with that" and did the songs in their raunchy entirety, which is what you gotta do with Rocky Horror! I honestly thought at first the cast was from the 90s or something. Despite its song lackage, this is definitely an asset to anyone's Rocky Horror collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not actually the "original" cast, 22 Sep 2006

Just a quick note to point out that this is not the *original* Australian cast album. The original Australian cast (1974) featured Reg Livermore, Kate Fitzpatrick, Arthur Dignam, John Paramor, Jane Harders and others I can't remember.

I saw both casts in the original run and can testify that they're both fantastic. But i guess because he's the first one I heard (and I must have worn out the album), Reg Livermore's Frank'n'Furter has always been "the one".

4.0 out of 5 stars A Necessary Addition to Your RHS Collection, 14 Dec 2001

I rated this recording a four only because of the scarcity of songs. Daniel Abineri is absolutly sensational as Frank-N-Furter. The best since TC. The other performers are great as well. This CD is well worth the price.
