Splendidly written, the narrative of Rock 'n' Roll Suicide drew me in immediately. Geoffrey West has a wonderful talent for bringing to life scenes with such vividness that I felt as if I were truly walking in the shoes of protagonist Jack Lockwood, a Behavioral Investigative Adviser, a psychologist who used to work with police on various crime cases.
Rock 'n' Roll Suicide is an intriguing suspense novel that begins with Jack Lockwood writing a book called "Crash and Burn," the story of 1980s rock legend Maggi O'Kane and her band, Border Crossing. Lockwood is investigating their deaths, in which it was believed that Maggi had gunned down the band members and afterwards committed suicide. The story is not only a mystery that cleverly weaves together a conspiracy theory about the murder of famous Beatle John Lennon with the death of Maggi O'Kane, it's also a story about motive, character study, and the struggling emotions of Jack Lockwood who has suffered his own personal tragedies.
There is plenty of action, characters come alive, and the story flows with surprising twists and turns.
As corpses pile up and a serial killer hunts Jack Lockwood, the intrigue and suspense mounts and I found myself reading page after page, faster and faster. For anyone who enjoys a good mystery and lots of thrilling action, I can promise, you won't be disappointed with Rock 'n' Roll Suicide!
Bravo to Geoffrey West, well done! I look forward to "Doppelganger," book 2 in the Jack Lockwood Mystery series.
