A delightful CD of totaly original numbers written by John Wall (Johnny)and Richard Ball (Lead Guitar). Whilst I love 50's style rock 'n'roll music, with so many atempts at either originality or covers over the years, it is not often that that a band stands out quite like this.
Having had the pleasure of seeing a live performance, I was rather thinking that the CD would be good but only a very poor substitute. However having employed not only the writting skills, but also the engineering skills of Richie Ball in the production, it does reflect (nothing can compare entirley) the energy that goes into their remarkable show.
I'm not however sure that the excellent recording quality is a bonus as I personaly love rock 'n' roll to be a bit more 'rough and ready'. It is here then that electric piano and bass, plus the 'Hank Marvin' sound of the Fender guitar lose it a little for me (I know I'm a heathen!). Whilst though this prevented me from awarding 5 stars, R&R fans should buy it, it is well worth having.
