Quite pleased as it is my first guitar and is great to start with. The most impressive thing was the delivery - I ordered it on a Monday and it was at home by Wednesday! This was with STANDARD delivery!

As far as the pack is concerned, it comes with the guitar, a bag, amp, strap, whammy bar, allen key, spare strings, DVD and two plecs.

Guitar - Pretty decent, may be a bit difficult to tune for the beginner (like me) but like everything it needs practice. An experienced player might damn this guitar to the eternal depths of hell - but the market for this product is those intending to start playing the guitar. Better to get this one, practice, learn the basics and then invest in a better one. I think it tends to de-tune itself sooner than it should, but all guitars go out of tune in the end anyway.
Bag - Only for keeping the dust off the guitar when you put it aside for the night. Would not rely on it to carry it around.
Amp - Very basic but good enough to start with. Best to use this to know your way around an electric guitar and amp. Not much difference between normal and overdrive but doesnt produce any distortion - sorry to disappoint heavy metal fans!
Strap - Decent strap, does what it should - secures the guitar on your shoulder.Does not feel cheap or flimsy and is pretty solid.
Whammy bar - I'm not skilled enough to fit it on yet! I've still left it in the packet.
Allen key - still left in packet
Spare strings - The original strings on the guitar seem pretty solid so far.
Plecs - They feel a bit flimsy, might invest in some better ones later. But the two plecs provided are good enough to start.

The DVD is simple, but pretty informative. There is no real video, more of a slide show of several pictures.

Been playing for a while and decided to upgrade to an electric guitar.
This is one cool kit, nice heavy guitar and plays well straight from the box, even my guitar teacher was impressed!

If you're looking for your first electric, then this kit has all you need, good amp, spare strings, lead, and strap. Well worth its value.

Like many others who also purchased this type of package, I too am a novice looking to take up the guitar as a hobby. That being said, I am a beginner at guitar lingo so forgive me if I say something incorrect.

Firstly, I agree with other reviews I saw before purchasing that stated there was excessive hum from the amp lead -- completely agree. Spend an extra fiver or more and pick up a seperate guitar lead; my replacement is on order so we'll see.

The brief beginners guide that comes with the package is just that, brief. It does give you a bit of insight into tuning and a few chords but nothing more, which is fine. By the way, my anti-virus blocked the website that offers free music lessons so explore at your own risk.

The guitar itself has a good feel and came virtually unblemished so no complaints there whatsoever. I purchased a seperate clip on tuner and to my surprise, most notes were not that far out of tune.

What I am not too sure about at this point is how well the three pick up coils work; this is where being a novice comes into play. I have been following a free (and very good I might add) guitar lesson website that recommends not plugging into anything while learning chords and what not. Aside from this, I was curious what the guitar actually sounded like so I briefly plugged the guitar into the amp just to see what it sounds like. There was alot of hum from the guitar lead as previously stated, so I kept turning up the volume and changing the selector, volume, and tone controls as I played open notes and nothing changed with respect to how the guitar sounded. Am I wrong but isn't the selector switch supposed to change from one pickup to the next and a few combinations that change the overall sound? I have ordered a digital processor for down the road when I want to start playing simple power chords but I sure hope the pickup coils actually work.

Overall, so far pretty satisfied.

I'm an absolute beginner and I bought this guitar pack a week or so ago. I may not be a brilliant guitarist (yet) but I am well impressed with the sound of this product. It holds it's tuning well and feels good to hold, not too heavy. The amp is more than capable of blowing out some really chunky sounds. I feel like a rock star already!!!!
