I have to admit that on a personal level, I enjoy listening to out takes and session material involving Marc to an inordinate degree, so this is an absolute joy as far as I am concerned.
The tracks on this CD find Marc, as the insert (by Danielz and Caron Willans) details so well, re visiting his rock and roll roots and his 1950s influences.
The rock n roll ensemble ("Rip It Up" / "Long Tall Sally" / "Teenager In Love") recorded in 1974, is just superb, whether in edited version (Track 1) or unedited version (complete with "Maybelline", re takes of the aformentioned tracks and studio chatter) at an engaging 15 minutes plus (Track 2).
Track 3,the bluesy "Woke Up This Morning", recorded in 1976, is good fun and the reproductions of Marc's hand written lyrics for the song on the insert are a lovely touch.
Track 4 finds Marc and Tony Visconti in 1973, messing about and impersonating Bob Dylan and giving us a quick blast of "Blowin' In The Wind" - which,as with the rest of this CD,is priceless.
