By Happy and Smiling TOP 1000 REVIEWER
I imported all 4 of the science DVD's from america (physical, human, earth and plant), to help my 10 year old revise for common entrance exams. They are all excellent at providing an easy to understand explanation of core science matters. The graphics are excellent, entertaining and it is very well presented. Most importantly - the information is remembered by both my girls after just a single viewing. As you get full cartoon graphical explanations of everything it is just easier to embrace the topic, as opposed to reading it in a book. The physical science DVD could do with a little more depth (just slightly too basic especially on electricity), but it is tackling complicated subjects so hard to tell if taking that one step further would turn children off. Highly recommended. I did not have to pay any import duties, but each DVD was ordered individually so it kept the total cost below import duty level.

An excellent way to get young people interested in the basics of science 19 Mar 2010
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
Three award-winning, computer-animated DVDs from Rock 'N Learn correlate to national Science Education standards, and are an excellent way to get young people interested in the basics of science. "Earth Science" (61 min., for grades 3-8) teaches how the earth's tilt causes the seasons, and about the water cycle, what causes weather, the different types of rocks and fossils, topography and volcanoes, plate tectonics, energy and resources, alternative energy and conservation, and much more. "Life Science" (59 min., for grades 3-8) covers plants and photosynthesis, the parts of a plant, the parts of a flower and pollination, characteristics of animal groups, ecosystems/food chains/food webs, genetic traits and adaptations, an introduction to human body systems and more. "Physical Science" (55 min., for grades 5 & up) covers lab safety, the scientific method, the parts of atoms, molecules and the states of matter, physical and chemical changes, mixtures versus pure substances, the definition of electricity, understanding magnetism, motion and gravity, and more. All three DVDs have a bonus section designed to help young viewers with multiple choice tests, and are a superb pick for public and grade school libraries, home schooling DVD collections, and just plain educational fun. Highly recommended.

Great for a younger audience. 12 April 2009
By David Friesen - Published on Amazon.com
This is a great video for curious little minds and is presented well for a young audience. I think Grade 5 students would find the presentation style a little young. But because the concepts are well presented from simple to more complex concepts, younger children can easily benefit from the videos. We find The Magic School Bus videos and books a good companion to this video as The Magic School Bus videos are more engaging and the books cover the concepts in a lot more detail. However, this Rock 'n Learn video covers some concepts not covered by The Magic School Bus.
