We find Joan Trotter desiring a new life, whilst Del has a master plan to become a movie producer. That plan in turn sees him hunting for investment, and nobody in the vicinity is set to be safe from his fund-raising ideas.
Once more, Rock And Chips mixes in drama and comedy with Sullivan’s trademark skill, and the writer is clearly enjoying filling in some of the back story behind the Trotter clan. It remains a very different beast from Only Fools and Horses, and that’s entirely right. But with The Frog and the Pussycat clearly laying the foundations for further episodes, and possibly a series, there’s a real sense of an identity being laid here. And the prospect of more Rock And Chips is a welcome one. --Jon Foster
From the writer of Only Fools and Horses comes Rock & Chips – the long awaited story about the young life of Del Boy, Rodney and the gang. Catch up with the Trotters as they return for a third hilarious helping of Rock & Chips in this hour-long comedy drama from the pen of John Sullivan.
Rock & Chips: The Frog and the Pussycat stars Nicholas Lyndhurst as light-fingered Freddie Robdal, Kellie Bright as ever-hopeful Joan Trotter and James Buckley as the young Del Boy. Phil Daniels returns as Grandad, Shaun Dingwall is back as work-shy Reg Trotter and Robert Daws is Joan Trotter’s sleazy manager Raynor. Paula Wilcox picks up her knitting needles again as Reg’s mother Violet and Mel Smith is back to restore law and order to the streets of Peckham as Freddie’s nemesis DI Thomas. This special is an essential addition for all fans of Britain’s favourite sitcom, Only Fools and Horses.|
