Synopsis
It's Christmas 1960 and the Trotters are settling into their new flat in Sir Walter Raleigh House, Peckham. Rodney is a babe in arms, Reg is still drawing the dole and hard-working Joan is struggling to keep the family afloat after losing her jobs at the town hall and the cinema. A 16-year-old Del has left school and is exploring employment opportunities around the docks--including a nice line in selling 45s straight off the back of a boat from America--and Freddie Robdal has been temporarily detained in Wormwood Scrubs at Her Majesty's pleasure. Meanwhile Del, who has been advised that slipping an engagement ring on a girl's finger can open up a whole new world of lustful opportunity, has managed to get himself engaged to half of Peckham. But will any of his engagements lead to a trip up the aisle?

This is a first class piece of TV - an hour that flies by ! The cast do a fine job and are all too clearly up to the job.On screen you can believe that they grow up into the mature Del Boy,Trigger,Slater,Boycie etc who we all enjoyed seeing in Only Fools & Horses.It is interesting to see how the Trotters became the family that were introduced to in the 1980's.This is a comedy-drama which can make you laugh and cry with ease and John Sullivan has not lost the knack of great comedy writing.Del is being a right Spiv and a one with the ladies,Slater a junior copper who is unpopular even then,Denzal a lippy geezer from Liverpool and Trigger daft as a brush.But you do understand why Del hated his Dad and revered his Mum's memory.

rock & chip is back
five gold rings is fab looking forward to the next part of Del Boy early life. Also I wish it was done as a serise intead of per episode.
