Transfer quality is pretty good assuming episodes were shot on 16mm film. Also beware menu audio level is very loud compared to episodes. DVD's are Region 2 (not 0) and Disc 1 also will not play on either of my Panasonic DMR-EH50 machines.

In the late 80s and early 90s movie companies was cashing in on every franchise, rambo had a cartoon series and videogame, robocop got a tv series, cartoon series (possibly 2 if memory serves me correctly) and videogames.
This is the live action tv series and includes the feature length pilot. Now as a kid i watched the pilot to death but only saw a few episodes of the program, the pilot is actually by far the best episode and could easily be a low budget robocop 4, the acting is not too bad the special effects okay and generally its quite good. After that you have to deal with episode after episode of similiar plots and bad acting. there as some flaws with the series from get go, for a start officer lewis has been replaced with officer madigan, theres no introduction to this new character its sort of just thrown in and they expect you to know her. Now i have a question here why couldnt lewis of been involved, this must be set before Robocop 3 as OCP went bankrupt after that. Ignoring these harsh comments for a early 1990s american tv series it is still okay, i think the main problem is they was limited in terms of budget and violence levels allowed. its too tame in some parts, people dont die when they should and then at others it has robocop smashing a man whos been turned to ice. Acting need to be better madigan is alright and so is the police chief but the guy playing robocop is too robotic.

This review is from: Robocop - The Series [DVD] (DVD)
The original RoboCop was a masterful bloody adult film which commented on the nature of the human soul trapped in a machine, while warning us of the power of the corperations, all the while indulging in super violence in a futuristic setting of our world.
Then they made sequel after sequel lowering the age limit with each film.. till we get to the series. Its about as far removed from the original film as you can get as its no more then the final cash in on the francise which has been flogged. Its made for kids... with robo-cop villians that makes the original batman 70s camp villians look hard.Oh and it smacks of cheapness. Surely it doesnt even deserve a star,
