Bought this as a present for my parents for Christmas, so gave it a test beforehand.
First off it is very compact and neat looking, The controls are clear and uncomplicated and I found tuning the DAB was no problem. The zoom control works ok but basically just flips between the 2 displayed lines if you have the zoom control turned off.
I found the sound quality quite good and configurable enough to suit most tastes, the low level quality on CD playback is somewhat disrupted by the actual sound of the disc spinning up but not really noticed when the volume is turned up.
The SD card playback is fine and enabled me to load a number of my parents CD's onto a card not sure if SHDC is supported though.
Overall an impressive little unit and wouldn't expect a lot more for the cost!

Of an attractive and compact design, with crystal clear DAB sound, a cd player, alternative battery operation and straightforward controls, at less than £85 the Zoombox is excellent value.

There aren't many DAB/CD portables (i.e portable means runs on battery or mains) about but this one is pretty good. It is neat and compact, although the preset buttons are a bit too compact and a bit fiddly. Would have been better with one preset button per station - but this is a minor grumble. DAB radio quality is good in the areas I have used it, and haven't needed to resort to FM. Not sure how long it can be used on batteries only but probably not that long for CDs. Volume knob turns to give infinite control from silent to maximum which is much better than some DAB radios with only preset volume levels. One other minor niggle - it is a pity that the time can only be displayed in radio mode and even then it has to be reset after every switch off; why couldn't the time be displayed when the radio and CD are off?
