This is a great Internet clock radio. The description however describes it as supporting both a wifi and wired ethernet connection. This is Incorrect. This radio is wireless only. You cannot use it with a wired ethernet connection. Assuming you have a wireless network, this radio will be a perfect alarm clock whilst allowing you to wake up to either a buzzer or one of the approximately 16,000 radio stations that Reciva have on their database. Sound quality is perfectly satisfactory for a bedside radio and there are tone controls for bass or treble adjustment if you wish. The controls are easy to use if a little small and fiddly when you first wake up, bleary eyed searching for a button. However the menu functionality and navigation is intuitive. Register the radio with Reciva for added Internet radio menu options. Beware, you will not be able to use the embedded 'My Pandora' option unless you use the radio in the USA. Pandora block all access to non US IP addresses.

The radio has an FM capability aswell which I haven't really had need to use given it's Internet radio capablity. The FM however would be useful when events such as the local football commentary isn't being streamed online due to broadcasting rights.

The clock is attractive, easily read and is displayed on screen at all times and, when the radio is in standby, will also display the day and date. When the radio is in use then metadata (song and artist name etc) will scroll along the bottom of the display for those stations that display the information - not all stations do. A dimmer control allows you to set the LED brightness to your personal taste. Snooze, sleep and nap options are also provided. The alarms can be set to daily, weekly, once only, weekdays only or weekends only which gives great flexibility.

If you're looking for a small, bedside Internet radio then you can't go far wrong with the StreamTime.... just ensure you have a wireless router!

Roberts is a bit of a 'family' brand in our house....The old 'classic' LW/MW radio that we bough 30 years or so ago still goes strong - even if it does 'eat' 9v batteries!

I was aware that Roberts' new Streamtime was actually a rebadged Sangean RCR 8W, however, without the RCR's option to 'plug-in'audio files on SD card or USB stick. I was also concerned that the quality of the Roberts Streamtime wouldn't live up to my expectations of what a Roberts product should look and 'feel' like...and whether it'd still be working in two or three years' time.

When the radio arrived from my local dealer, (Briggs and Powell in Beverley), I was a little disappointed by the weight of the Radio...it is very 'light' and a bit 'plasticy' feeling...something I'd expect to pay around £30 for, perhaps.... However, setting up Wi-fi was very easy, even in a 'locked down' WIFI network. Sound quality is excelent with good bass tones the unit sounds much 'bigger' than it feels! The four line on-screen menu is very intuitive: linking-up with the online Reciva service posed no problems - Within half and hour, I was listening to podcasts and 'listen again' BBC Radio 4 stuff.

Unfortunately, after a day of use, the speaker stopped working and I had to return the radio to Briggs and Powell - who looked a little surprised that a Robers' product had failed. Faced with my choice of getting another Streamtime....or my money back, I opted to get another Streamtime... - I suppose that's a recommendation!

Amazing wireless internet radio, plus FM RDS, open up around 18000 global stations via the Reciva service.

You can wake to FM, Buzzer (which is more of a gently increasing beep) or internet radio, 2 alarms can be set each to wake to different internet radio stations at different time / day combos (I use one for Mon - Fri and the other for Weekends) Alarm setting allows you to select from Once, daily, weekly, Mon - Fri, Weekends or a specific day.
Time / day / date are automatically set via internet (no more waking to flashing 12:00 after a power cut in the middle of the night)

Has media player function to play from file shares on a PC on your home network, or UPnP shares (media centre / TVersity), 3.5mm aux in jack, 3.5mm line out, 3.5mm headphone jack.

Blue lit background dimmer has multi levels and an OFF, but yes everytime you press anything the display will fully light up (so you can read what you are doing on the screen)

I read the amazon reviews before buying this and disagree that it is clunky / cheap looking, it does the job and I feel is much better than I was expecting after reading those reviews.

The sound quality is pretty good for an alarm clock radio sized device and the FM is clear due to the digital (not DAB) tuning, if you are in a good RDS signal area you will also get the RDS data stream depending on what the station outputs, e.g. now playing, station telephone number etc.

The Reciva service allows you to use the "My Stuff" menu where you can, at reciva.com, select and create your own list and categories of station "My Stations" using their search engine and narrow down to you choice of internet stations rather than scrolling through all 18000 of them. All you need to do is set up an account at Reciva and then register your device to your account (instructions included in the manual) If your radio station is not listed you can add the stream feed to "My Streams", or you can request / suggest it is added to their database.

It is a great product, having had 2 Magicbox ImpAdapts (also Reciva devices) for around 5 years this takes that concept and improves on it drastically.

I can't recommend it enough
