5.0 out of 5 stars Radio Ga Ga, 30 Sep 2007

This is an excellent piece of kit from the renowned Roberts company. I truly can't find a single fault with this radio. The design is agreeably retro and "cool". The sound quality is crystal clear, with bass and treble controls. Operation couldn't be easier - just touch the tuning button and this little beast will tune itself in to a multitude of digital channels. Listening to Classic FM in our kitchen has now become an audio delight!

My summation of this radio would be to say that it is ninety pounds sterling very well spent. I bought an Intempo radio a few years ago for roughly the same price and this radio beats it hands down.

So, go ahead - Make the purchase and prepare to be very, very satisfied!

4.0 out of 5 stars One snag....!, 9 Jun 2008

In general I can't disagree with the 5 star reviewer - except to say that I've found a fault! Hence I've knocked of a single star.

Given the sound quality of this radio perfection would have been the ability to use it to playback from an iPOD. Fitting a line-in really can't be that expensive and in general probably more useful to more people than the line-out socket that the radio does have.

In fact to get a socket suitable for an MP3 player on a decent Roberts Radio (as opposed to something like the RD-55!) you have to pay twice as much for the RD41 with EPG and SD card recording.

Come on Roberts! The iPOD generation (and even your typical over-50's clients use iPODS - the Queen apparently has several!) needs line-in sockets almost as standard - that shouldn't be too much to ask!
