I have bought this radio to replace a Scott radio (Scott RX30 4 Band (LW/MW/SW 1-2) Radio
) that I recently bought from Amazon. Where the Scott radio fails, this Robert radio excels.
The unit is small (about six inches by four and one inch thick), but delivers a sounds that is both clear and loud. The tuning is rotary, but it has a PLL display and, even when stations seem to drift, this radio stays locked on.
The long aerial allows reception to be obtained in weak signal areas.
The displays have a green backlight (press the big button on the top and the light comes on for about 20 seconds).
When in use, the top display shows the frequency and the lower display shows the time. When off, the two selected time zones are shown.
The alarm can be set to wake you to either radio or buzzer and there is a snooze button.
Finally, the leather case is well designed to protect it during travel (there is also a <lock> button to prevent it being accidentally switched on during travel) and snaps off (poppers on the back of the radio and magnetic catches on the front) when you want to use it.
I would heartily recommend this if you are wanting a clock radio for your travels (or even just for use in the bathroom).
