5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent small shortwave receiver. 6 April 2011
By Graspee
This radio is probably quite expensive compared to other radios of its size, but it has absolutely marvellous battery life, sensitivity and selectivity. Its forte is shortwave; I have got excellent reception on it compared to much more expensive and larger radios at the same location. The built-in speaker is also a lot better than some larger radios.

I have been using this radio for quite a few years now and it continues to impress me. I recommend it most highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roberts R9962 Radio 3 May 2004
By A Customer
I needed a small radio to listen to certain stations and went for the £15 Alba from Argos which couldn't receive the stations. I returned it and ordered this Radio & its simply fantastic!!It received the stations with excellent quality and no signal loss. The sound is also nice coming from the mono speaker. It comes with a wallet you can store it in and a BBC SW guide. You will not regret buying this item for its clarity and consistent signal strength. It proves if you buy cheap, you buy twice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressive sound for such a small radio 9 Sep 2011

I bought this to replace my stolen Sony radio, but wanted something that cost less than the £200 I paid for the Sony.
This is a really neat little radio. Good clear sound, and small and light enough to shove in a large pocket.
Tuning is analog, via the tuning knob on the side, coupled with the sliding 'band' selectors on the top panel - which I actually like - and it has a good sized antenna to help with FM reception. It has a headphone socket on the side and an input port for a power supply (neither of which are supplied).
We always take a radio when we travel, and this one has good reception of World Service programmes on Long Wave which is what we need.
Also - cheap as chips!
