I was concerned when I read the previous reviews but I could not believe a Roberts product could be so poor and as it was exactly what I was looking for I took a chance and I am glad I did.

The radio is compact and yet the sound quality is excellent for a unit this size, the bass and treble can be adjusted to ones taste or use the preset sound effect, pop, classical, etc.

I would recommend that the instruction manual is read in detail as the menu system does take getting use to but is extremely useful for setting the radio to your taste, setting the alarms is straight forward. An alarm can be set for a specific day or every weekday and whether it should be Dab, FM or iPod along with the volume, etc.

I would recommend this clock radio.

I wanted an alarm clock/radio to replace my ancient Sony, which was only that and nearly 30 years old. To get something to charge my iPhone too was the object of the exercise. This ticked all the boxes. It charges my iPhone. I can play music from my iPhone. It tells the time and is a DAB radio has a remote too.
I think it's the DAB reception which is at fault rather that the radio. Sometimes it's as clear as a bell and sometimes there are funny gurgling noises which is a bit irritating. I sent the first one back to Roberts who replaced it with a new item without saying specifically what was wrong. This one does the same, so I guess it was the DAB signal.
The most irritating thing is that it can freeze up sometimes. It can't be operated at all. The only solution is to pull out the power cord and 'reboot' it. It then sorts itself out.
Obviously, as an alarm clock, I need to know that it will be 100% reliable. So I'm a bit disappointed here really. I wanted a good British product. Shame, but I'm still trying to love it though!

The sound on this clock radio is poor as the speakers have a crackle and vibration if set to over 16 on the vol control. But that's not the worst thing about this clock radio. Setting the alarm clock to wake with DAB results in the buzzer going off. Reset and check on a different and it works on alarm 1 but alarm 2 then refuses to work with the DAB and just sounds the buzzer etc. Rang Roberts to see if there was a software update and - guess what - there isn't and they have no idea if there will be so - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. This product has been released under very poor quality control and is a great disappointment to the once great Roberts Radio company.

Unfortunately I have to agree with other comments on here. I bought the Roberts Dreamdock as I already had a Roberts Sound 66, which I must say is amazing.

Unfortunately the Roberts Dreamdock does not live up to Roberts usual quality. I have had the Roberts Dreamdock now for 4 weeks and I am at my whits end with it, apart from the constant intermittent low humming when switched off, the DAB radio sometimes works. I can switch it on and I get Off Air, as soon as I switch it off then on again it will work. So when the alarm is set to DAB radio sometimes it will work and sometimes it will not. Phoned Roberts, not really interested or that helpful, said to do a reset and that the DAB signal in my area is not that good (strange as all my other DAB radios work fine including the Roberts Sound 66).

I have rated this very low purely as it does not do its primary function of a DAB Radio alarm clock well. If the DAB radio is not an issue and you are using your iPhone/iPod then it will be fine but there are better products at less money that will do this job.

For its size it sounds good and it is not to badly built although a little plastic. Could do with auto dimmer as display is bright even on lowest setting and I find I am adjusting the brightness twice a day. The alarm is also a little annoying as you have to run through settings every time you switch it on.

Hope you all find this of help.

This is an excellent DAB Clock Radio which I find very easy to use. As it has two speakers, it produces excellent sound output and is much superior to DAB radios (even from the same manufacturer) with only one speaker. It has a very good tone and the provided remote control is very useful (for someone on the other side of the bed!). The alarm is very effective without being annoying. Having listened to several others, before buying this one, I consider this to be an EXCELLENT DAB CLOCK RADIO and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DEVICE.

Firstly I bought the Roberts i dream dab radio, however the radio alarm volume could not be controlled (it went up to a deafening 20 first thing in the morning and you can not alter this! which I found out by ringing Roberts technical help line)
So I rang roberts to ask does the Dreamdock do the same? 'technical support' told me no, so I invested £20 more to buy the Roberts Dreamdock as I like the design and sound quality.
BUT this radio does not pick up the dab signal quickly enough for the radio (as alarm)to come on so the LOUD AWFUL Buzzer (default) comes on instead. When I rang Roberts again they told me that if it is next to a microwave or freezer it interferes with the dab signal! I explained it was on my bedside table! plus the idream (radio bought previously made by Roberts also)dab signal was fine. I have taken their advice and reset it all tonight, but will be returning it if it does not work (the radio) in the morning!AND I won't be buying another Roberts product again! Shame because it looks good, sounds good and is a good size. But doesn't really do what it says it should! ie wake you up to the radio!
