As a DAB radio it's fine but as a Clock Radio it is completely flawed:
    1) The display is way too bright (why don't they revert to LED rather than backlit LCD?).
    2) To set the alarm you need to have the radio on!
    3) To cancel the alarm you need to have the radio on!
    4) The display is angled upwards so if you're eye level is below the unit the display is not visible: all you can see is the blue glow of the backlighting.
    and finally the worst point......
    5) When the alarm goes off the full display shows the radio station name so it no longer functions as a clock!!
You lie-in listening to the radio and only news bulletins give you any indication of how late you've slept in.

After one night I took it back to the shop.

The set up was easy enough, it found all the stations and the clock was automatic in getting the right time. The first night was a bit of a shock as my bed room was filled with this purple light, I hadn`t used the dimmer, there are three settings and I found that even the lowest light setting was to bright for me. The last setting is off, this means the clock cannot be seen but is still working, so if you wake during the night and want to know the time you have to press the dimmer to turn it back on and then press twice more to get it off so that you can go back to sleep. The numbers are large and easy to see and the radio has a crystal clear sound.
All in all I think I would recommend this clock for its price and style.

Speaker quality could be better, and would be nice if when alarm came on the display defaulted to clock rather than station, but does the job.

Setting up is a child's play and all other features are easy to use. It has a handy two alarms configuration and a reasonable sound quality.

The only niggle - the screen glow is too intense even in its lower setting although the screen display can be turned off altogether! The solution - a suitably bespoke piece of cardboard paper to cover the display at night!

~This Roberts digital clock was a disappointment, I liked the shape and colour and the tone plus easy to use instructions. But I dislike not having the time when you use the radio, I dislike the screen colour even dimmed, and I dislike the fact that the radio doesn't turn off after a length of time by itself.
Most of all I dislike when lying in bed not being able to see what the time is without lifting my head. I can on my old non digital Roberts radio clock a little more thought would have made this a super little clock.

This clock radio is pretty hopeless, really. I feel obliged to carry on using it because a friend bought it for me. It doesn't matter what level I adjust the read-out I just can't read the time on it. If I need to set the alarm I have to turn the radio on. If in the middle of the night I wish to recheck the time I set the alarm I have to go through many button presses as there is only one read out of the time, and, of course, whilst I do this the radio has to be switched on. Once the alarm 'goes off' in the morning one has to make sure one is there because the radio or buzzer will continue to 'play' until you come back home in the evening. Once the alarm does 'go off' the clock radio displays the radio station it is tuned to; so it's a good idea to have another clock sitting next to it (preferably one that can be seen clearly in the dark).
