Roberts C9950 17 Jan 2010
Good looking unit. Unfortunately that's as far as it goes. The electronics are very poor and the unit is VERY unreliable. Playback of cassettes is reasonable, but recordings (even an normal speed) are dire. It appears that Roberts omitted to install a proper bias equalisation circuit. Avoid this machine...

I had the Sangean version of this machine for several years and it recently became unreliable so I bought this roberts as a replacement. For unattended recording of radio programmes it is perfectly acceptable. The audio on long play is poor but it is fine for monitoring non-broadcast/utility signals. I use it with my 30 year old shortwave receiver and if, like me, you hate new fangled digital gadgets then this may be just what you are looking for.
