Robert John Goddard was born in London in 1952. He has lived and worked in Italy, Portugal, Jordan and Germany. He currently lives near Frankfurt with his German wife and 5-year-old son, Anton. He also has a 30-year-old son, Alexander, from his first marriage.
Robert has written 4 novels. The first novel, "Quero Vas," remains in a drawer somewhere and may never see the light of day! "Whispers in the Hearts of Men," has recently been joined on Kindle by, "The Poor Singer of an Empty Day." A fourth novel, "The Schoenbuch Forest" will also soon be available on Kindle. These last 2 novels are also available on amazon as paperbacks under the name R J Goddard. He has also written a book for university teachers, "Teaching English for International Business." This is also available for sale on amazon. Robert is currently sketching a fifth novel about fathers and sons.
Robert is fascinated by the power of the past and the influence it can have on the present. Although we seem to be living in a permanent present, he believes that History matters. Nonetheless, he feels that the present can also have a powerful influence on the past. In other words, the past is often deliberately rewritten in order to suit the present. We all do it! Your CV might be a good example.
When he is not studying or writing, Robert might be found cycling along the Rhine or walking in the hills somewhere between Darmstadt and Heidelberg either alone or with his wife and son.
