DVD ratio specs all over the place for Altman Set,

The DVD ratio specs for ths Robert Altman collection are all over the place. Sadly - no one at the distributing studio (MGM) bothered to check the cover or discs before creating the covers.
O.C. and Stiggs is in the ratio of 2.35:1 anamorphic. This is far better than the non-anamorphic version that Sony pulled out in the US (Region 1) a few years ago. Fool for Love is non-anamporhic at 1.85:1 (sadly it is truely letterboxed on some widescreen TVs. Hope that you have a zoom function) For the price - its great value for 5 films - just wished that someone paid more attention on the covers.

Great value and a mixed bag of movies,

I bought this as I am a big fan of the MASH movie but mainly because I had wanted to watch OC and Stiggs again having only ever seen it once before really late on terrestial tv about 15 years ago or so. I have to admit that the movie is not as good as i remember but would probably be fun for a 13 yr old to watch :) The best thing in it is watching Cynthia Nixon (who plays Michelle) and later of course played Miranda in Sex & the City in one of her earliest roles.
The two leads were pretty good I thought espically OC and was surprised neither of them really ever went on to do anything other than appear in a few random tv shows. Still the Long Goodbye is good, MASH is excellent and the other movies are not bad and ffor the £6.98 I paid for it in a sale its an absolute steal.
