Product Description

Product Description

All is not well in the crumbling castle high above the mountain village of Fracture. The sorceress Lady Lamorna has her heart set on a new robe. It is a very expensive new robe. To get the cash she will stop at nothing, including kidnapping, blackmail and more than a little black magic. But she reckons without the heroic Gracie Gillypot, not to mention a gallant if rather scruffy prince, two chatty bats, the wickedest stepsister ever, a troll with a grudge - and some very Ancient crones.

Great read! 21 July 2008
Format:Paperback
I read this book to my daughter while we were on holiday, and I don't know who enjoyed it most, her or me! It is lively and well written with a host of great characters. I enjoyed the jokes that she did not quite get, but there was plenty for her to chuckle at as well.

It is well worth buying and would take re-reading any number of times.

I found this book early this year and loved it! I then chose it to read as my clas novel to my year 3/4 class (7-9) and they adore it too! It is a funny story with lots of interesting characters - the talking bat Marlon and Gubble, the troll whose head regularly falls off, being firm favourites of all!

I think this is a lovely story with lots of characters and a quick plot. I throughly recommend it! Got all my children interested and listening attentively and that is praise indeed!

Format:Paperback
After hearing this being read to a class, I knew I had to get it for my daughter and I to read together. This has been one of the most enjoyable books we have read together for along time!!! I don't know who has enjoyed it more!! It's very well written, the more you read, the more you want to read, you don't want to stop reading, but you don't want the book to end either! It has the most wonderful characters, with great personalities, it's funny, moving and has a troll that is really endearing. I would say this was a new lean on the good fashioned fairy tale, but one that is written for children and adults alike. I think that this will become a firm favourite with most people. I hope the new book is as good as this one!Mind you it has a lot to live up to!!
