Book Description

30 July 2003
From his days with the British boy-blitz Take That, and his rabble-rousing with Britpop troublemakers Oasis, to worldwide solo acclaim, Robbie Williams' rise to fame has been nothing short of astounding. Here, journalist Virginia Blackburn looks at: his early days as the outspoken member of Take That, from their beginnings in gay clubs to the rivalry that drove them apart; his women, including ill-fated relationships with Geri Halliwell, Nicole Appleton, and Rachel Hunter; the despair that engulfed him during the days of his addiction; and how he really feels about men. A must-read for fans.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't believe anything you read in here! 23 April 2006
By EB
Format:Paperback
If you want to read about the real Robbie do not read this book! There is the odd true entertaining quote from Robbie obviously taken from various interviews he has done over the years but a large amount of it is also taken from made-up tabloid articles and is completely fabricated and/or over-exaggerated. The author is over-dramatic, often contradicts herself and makes enormous assumptions that she seems very sure of for someone who has obviously never known Robbie personally. The book I would recommend if you want really to find out about Robbie is the excellent 'Feel' by Chris Heath, which is official. Read this and you will find out not only the real truth about the gossip and rumours surrounding Robbie that this book is based on but also that Robbie does not really have many 'secrets' he isn't willing to share in the first place if treated with respect.
