5.0 out of 5 stars Brave, very brave! 25 Oct 2006
Format:Audio CD
After "Intensive Care" I was expecting just another great Robbie's album, but this became quite a surprise! And an exciting one... (I remember I felt the same when Madonna released "Ray of Light".) Here we have completely new Robbie Williams, so don't compare this record with his previous releases, just enjoy the great sounds "Rudebox" is packed with. Maybe next year Robbie will receive some of the "best new artist" awards.

Pop-rock star is gone, with this album Robbie has become the ULTIMATE star - whatever he does, he does with his unique style and, most of all, he makes it perfect, no matter if it's rock, swing, ballads or dance songs. The charts are waiting impatiently... you'll see.

Bravo Robbie!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars rudebox album 25 Oct 2006
By spookie
Format:Audio CD
Rudebox-done the dance, its a fun number. Viva life on mars-reminds me of being on a ranch somewhere, cool!. Lovelight-fantastic singing, looks gorgeous in the video! Bongo bong- my kids love it. Shes Madonna-its ok. Keep on-another ok one. Good doctor-great lyrics, robbie all over. The actor-strong voice, but a tad boring.Never touch that switch-great tune, very catchy. Louise- like this one, good feel to it. Were the pet shop boys-takes us back to the 80s, bet robbie had fun, fantastic! Burslem normals- about robbies roots maybe? loved it coz it sounds so true! Kiss me- wow love it, it electrified me, i could have been anywhere. the rest of the album i loved too!! Well done to all who put the album together. This wonderful man will be around for a long time to come! Love Claire King (spooky) xx

I picked this album up because of the involvement of the Pet Shop Boys, and I was expecting their contribution to be a disappointment, and the rest of the album to be just rubbish. How wrong I was. The PSB penned track "She's Madonna" is proper PSB synth pop, mournful and upbeat all at once, and the cover of My Robot Friend's "We're the Pet Shop Boys" is very good, although it sounds like Robbie just sang over the top of the version the Boys themselves put on their "I'm With Stupid" CD single.

I have to admit that the title track and recent single "Rudebox" is useless, and I cringe when listening to it, but there are many pop gems on this album, well worthy of a listen to by anyone who thinks they don't like Robbie Williams stuff (like me). It's a proper pop-tastic collection of music.

Hardened Robbie fans should steer clear, those looking for a nice pop record to listen to should try it out.

I'm not a big Robbie fan, I own his last album and that's it. I like a few of the hits, I think he's a fabulous entertainer but I've never really thought he was that into what he was doing. On this album i get him, in the past his earntestness embarrassing and mawkish and his raps have annoyed the f**k out of mebut on this album I get him and more importantly I believe him. The guy is singing his ass off and taking a massive risk and delivering it with fabulous, f**cked up, audaciuous pop chutzpah. The boy done good. LOVE IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dont put this album down 24 Oct 2006
Format:Audio CD
This album is a shock from the first moment you hear it. But, you have to say it takes massive balls for Robbie to suddenly change from his power ballards that have made him so popular. This is so different and it is great to see him try something new.

Great songs include Bongo Bong which jusy gets you doing a silly dance that if anyone saw you would probably just laugh.Shes madonna is a great track.Robbie sent a demo of this song to the girl in question and she loved it.I can see this being a single as it is a real strong song and stand out from the whole album. The 80s and 90s are great tracks that have you sitting there, really taking in what he says from the heart.

Now stop all your negative reviews and respect the guy. This album will be huge, its Robbie Williams where Robbie hasnt been before

5.0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece. Robbie's best album! 24 Oct 2006
By yarden
Format:Audio CD
This is one of those albums which you must listen to a few times,

only then you can figure how great it is.

I think its the first time robbie's making the music he actually likes, which works the best for him(and for us),and it takes a lot of courage that to do that.

The album has so many different styles in it,so much creativity..!

Working with all these great producers did only good to this album,

especially the songs produced by Mark Ronson.

My personal favorites are: Lovelight,Bongo bong,Keep on,Good doctor,She's Madonna,the 90's,and obviously Dickhead!

The only one I don't like is Viva Life On Mars,I think its just not good as the others.

I hope Robbie will continue making such a good music for many more years,

keep on doing the music he believes in,

And hopefully continue preforming.I've seen his concert in Budapest at the summer and it was an amaizing night i'll never forget.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get a grip! 24 Oct 2006
Format:Audio CD
I got this album today, and liked it on first listening. It's quirky, funny, a bit of a (ok, a LOT of a) piss take and Robbie is his usual sexy self. Ok, so I don't think it's one of his best, but he obviously enjoyed himself in the making of it. If that means he's wealthy enough to take the piss out of his adoring public, so be it. I like him, I love how he's grown and developed and there is nothing to not like in this album.

Mr Williams; YOU ROCK!

1.0 out of 5 stars What was he thinking?
This is awful - don't buy it. Not recognisable as a Robbie Williams album at all - in parts of it he sounds bored to be making such rubbish. Complete waste of time.
