I live in Ireland where I'm director of a research institute and a regular media commentator on social issues. I'm the author of two police procedural novels and dozens of short stories. In addition to writing crime fiction, I'm the author or editor of 20 academic books and a 12 volume encyclopedia. I write two blogs - 'The View from the Blue House' and 'Ireland After NAMA'.
