1.0 out of 5 stars Poor design - not recommended, 30 Dec 2008
The instructions say that if you start the engine while the unit is plugged into the power socket then it can be damaged. This is a serious design flaw. It means you have to unplug it when you stop to fill up with petrol.

The unit does not always reset properly after being plugged in. When this happens, the 7-segment LED used to display the FM channel ends up frozen and the buttons do not work. You have to unplug the device from the power socket and reconnect.

Pressing 'play' often does not work - you end up having to unplug the device, remove the USB flash drive, plug the unit back into the power socket then plug the memory stick back in. While doing this, the device completely destroyed my 4G USB Flash drive!

If you press and hold the play button, the device selects 'random play' mode. However, there is no feedback to indicate if random play is on or off so you are never sure if you held the button down long enough or if you held it down for too long. Similarly if you accidently hold the 'forward' or 'backward' buttons down for too long, the modulator level ends up being adjusted instead.

You cannot identify music tracks being played - no artist or song information is transmitted to the radio display.

A friend of mine has the same issues with his device - they are design flaws rather than faults on my unit.

Forget buying one of these - get a decent MP3 player instead.
