4.0 out of 5 stars the refinement of illness 26 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
okay, the best Ramones album remains their debut with 'Leave Home' coming a close second but on this record The Ramones refine their original philosophy and go further beyond. so for Johnny Ramone's statement about not being able to write songs about cars & girls because none of The Ramones had cars or girls The Ramones on this album drive the point home with 'Go Mental'. elsewhere 'Don't Come Close' is The Byrds with a speed habit & the best song on the whole thing is 'I'm Against It' which remains to this day the ultimate punk music misanthropic statement. buy this CD & cherish the days when pop music actually meant something.

5.0 out of 5 stars Road To Ruin 13 Feb 2007
Format:Audio CD
The fourth album from the punk legends and the first album with the edition of new drummer Marky. Although this is their fourth studio release and it is seen to not be as good as the other three studio releases ("Ramones", "Leave Home" and "Rocket To Russia"). This is wrong and I can tell you that it is just as good as the others. Having well reknown Ramones songs as "I Just Want To Have Something To Do", "I'm Against It" and "I Wanna Be Sedated" is not only the reason to buy this CD, it is full of equally as good songs. And with the remastered edition having some great bonus tracks like the Ed Stasium version of "Rock 'N' Roll High School" and a great live set of "Blitzkrieg Bop/Teenage Lobotomy/California Sun/Pinhead/She's The One", this is by far an essential purchase. Although if you are new to the Ramones, I would recommend "Ramones".
