I was looking for something light and funny to fill in a rainy afternoon. Well, this story was light. I laughed out loud once, about 1/2 way through, and smiled a couple times at descriptions of the characters' driving.
I've read other books by Alan Russell, so was expecting more - more depth of character and more of his light-touch of humor.
It might (might) translate well onto film if someone like Tim Allen was playing one of the parts.
PG - Only because there's a little somewhat strong language. It's doubtful that the story would appeal to a young audience. A teen wouldn't finish it, unless it was an assignment.
