5.0 out of 5 stars The beggining of a grand saga?, 20 Aug 2005
This review is from: The Road to Inheritance (Monohue) (Paperback)
Dan Cure's debut novel, cuts a fine line between the realms of fast heart pacing drama, to thought out planing and calculation. Will and Matts journey to scotland in pursuit of thieves who have stolen Will's valuable neclace, their subsequent capture and escape, is proof of Cure's skill of words and own brand of litrerary guile.

Both fast and exciting, 'The Road to Inheritance' allows for an intersting and gripping read, with what can only be described as 'room for one if not more sequals. THe basic concept of two friends search for stolen property may strike some as a reversion to the good old days of the Hardy boys, however this is not the USA nor is it the 1950's, Dan Cure makes effort to give this book an undeniably British edge promoting the ideals of loyalty, friendship and self sacrifice amongst his key characters of Will, Matt and Alan. Also adressed are the problems faced by an 18 year old as he matures into man hood, his love life and social friendship groups.

What will happen to Will in the next few years? Why is his own father so aloof? And why does Will's uncle Alan provide such a strong paternal figure? These are all question i hope Cure will adress if there is to be a sequal/sequals, so hurry up and write it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dangerous Inheritance!, 30 Jun 2005

This review is from: The Road to Inheritance (Monohue) (Paperback)
Really enjoyable book - page turner. Cant recommend this enough and Ive been trying to work out if Cure's written anything else, as the narrative makes reading so fluid.

Is it me, though, or is his uncle a bit too bumbling early on?

5.0 out of 5 stars A great debut novel, 11 Jun 2006
This review is from: The Road to Inheritance (Monohue) (Paperback)
A thoroughly enjoyable tale of friendship, bravery and loyalty which I would certainly recommend! Vivid description, intrigue and suspense makes this book hard to put down. Hopefully the first of many tales of Will Monohue.
