Biography

"When I was 14, I saw B.B. King at a show in a giant barn in a part of town I wasn't supposed to be in. I was the only young person there. He was amazing. Women were screaming, and he was playing his ass off. I had to shake his hand afterwards. That moment changed my life."

As a huge Eagles fan and admirer of Don 'fingers' Felder's playing, I can't tell you how pleased I am that after all these years, he has finally released a great solo album. His previous solo album, Airborne, it has to be said, wasn't great, mainly because he mixed his vocals so low as to be barely audible; and in fact didn't even reach the standard of the tracks he penned for the cartoon film Heavy Metal, the title track and All of You, which are both awesome.

His voice sounds great on this album though, especially on some of the mellower tracks here such as Fall From the Grace of Love and I Believe in You. Having said that, he holds the fort pretty well on the rockers like Girls in Black and You Don't Have Me too. Add in the presence of guest artists like Crosby Stills and Nash, Steve Lukather and Steve Porcaro and what you've got here is laid-back California rock of the highest order, blending a few rockers with some very melodic and enjoyable ballads.

Most importantly, the guitar work is absolutely superb, especially on You Don't have Me; which appears to be a none too thinly veiled dig at Messrs Henley and Frey, reminding them musically and lyrically that while you can hire as many session guitarists as you like, there will only ever be one lead guitarist that's going to sound right next to Joe Walsh in the Eagles.

If you're an Eagles fan, you really are going to love this one. Now all we need are some UK shows...and for Henley and Frey to put their egos back in the box and get Don Felder back in for the next album...

Absolutly brilliant album from the legend that is Don Felder.

The Eagles made a big mistake by sacking Felder, their sound is soo soft without him. He is by some distance, the best guitarist the Eagles have ever had.

Purchased this album as soon as it was released and i am very pleased with what it has to offer. Great guitar sound, as you would expect. Top songs are Wash Away and You Dont Have Me. The solo on Wash Away is amazing!!!

I dont understand why Felder didnt sing any of his solo stuff on the Hell Freezes Over tour, would have been much better than some of the rubbish Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey were singing about.

The only low point is the Album sleeve, there is no information at all, just the lyrics and a bunch of photos of Felder wearing silly clothes and looking very thoughful.

If your an Eagles fan BUY this album, you will not be disapointed. I also recommend his autobiography.

Surely the biggest mistake that The Eagles ( Messrs. Henley/ Frey) ever made, was to fire Don Felder back in 2001, This latest album by Felder shows exactly what was missing on the "Long road out of Eden" album. Happily though, Felder provides plently of rockers and classy ballads on this collection to keep his diehard fans more than happy, and provide a timely reminder what a great guitarist he is. He is joined here by many members of the West Coast fraternity, including CSN,Steve Lukather, Dave Paiche, Steve Porcaro, Tommy Shaw etc. all combine to produce a great mid-70's type album brought bang up to date. For any Eagles fan, a truly enjoyable collection which has occupied my cd player constantly since its' release. Great to hear from you again "Fingers", thanks for the education !

Good as background listening but it is clear why Frey said they (the Eagles) didn't need another lead singer when they had Don Henley. Felders voice is quite varied on this album and the guest vocalists do not bring much to the party. Will listen to it again but it is no Hotel California.

Ex Eagles guitarist Don Felder shows he has lost none of that creativity and drive that featured on classic Eagles hits like Hotel California. Although the styles have departed from his days with the super group this album will appeal to both guitarists and listeners alike.

This album needs to be listened a couple of times before it really meets your emotions. Guitar plays nicely like always and Felder is much better singer than some say. You can also hear his recent history in these songs. How I wish too hear Walsh and Felder play together once more. There is a little Joe in one of the songs. It would be nice to hear more. Let the guitar reeeeaaaally sing, Don!

Musically fairly sound but would be better as a collabaration with a recognised voice and arranged as such. Not really rated.

It's ok and that is about it.
Never the best vocalist but an excellent guitarist. I feel this album doesn't do his playing justice.
Probably at his best with Joe Walsh - pushing each other.
