This is a highly detailed road atlas - but you'll still need your GPS! Its problem is that the typeface is generally too big, so that vital bits of road and particularly junctions can get obscured, particularly round big cities such as Hamburg. For the same reason it can be tricky to work out to which blob the place name refers.
It is also large scale which, while very detailed, means constant turning over of pages. At the rate we were using it they won't last very long.
I also didn't like its lack of English. AA it may be, but it's German and my German isn't good enough.
Never mind, though. It served us pretty well, on the whole.

Fairly good for long distance, but very poor for road numbers, particulary for smaller roads. In some case E numbers only are given and not the German numbering - both are needed as road signing may have either.

Compared with the Michelin Atlas for France this is a much poorer presentation.

The country route planner on the inside back cover is far too small a scale and virtually impossible to use to plan through congested areas like between Cologne and Duisburg.

The European route planner is fairly clear but only uses E road numbers, including for UK! Does anyone know (or care) that the M1 is also the E13!

Suggest look for alternatives, but adequate if nothing better

I have just received The AA Road Atlas Germany with a red not blue cover but with print on the cover in English.
This Cover in English should in my opinion mean that the content of the book would also be printed in ENGLISH!!!!
What on earth is the use of an Atlas purporting to be an AA Atlas with the entire content printed in GERMAN!!!
I am most disappointed as the only reason I selected an AA Atlas was because I do not speak GERMAN and believed that I was purchasing an Atlas of Germany printed in a language that I could understand.
