For a number of years we have purchased the AA Road Atlas for France as we find the A4 size easy to store in the car, and with the spiral binding, this makes it very easy when map-reading.

Initially bought the Michelin atlas, but much too big and unwieldy for use in a car, and far too much info for driving. AA version is the ideal size and fits the bill exactly.

I have bought the AA atlas for France for several years now, and have always found it by far the clearest of those available. The Michelin may have more detail, but the AA one is much easier to read.
