'Rmxd' is a compilation of KJ remixes and extended versions from their 1984-1988 period, which is targeted specifically for the likes of myself, the overindulgent KJ completist.
There's nothing here that will particularly set your aural senses alight with a new found fervour for the KJ of old. However, there are certainly a few interesting alternate versions of their 80s favourites to contend with, especially from their 'Night Time' period (1984-85), while the differing versions of a New Day (including Dance Day) and Blue Feather are certainly welcome. I've also always had a soft-spot for the Ecstacy mix offered-up here, however, some of the remixes are perhaps surplus to requirements and can certainly overstay their welcome. In all honesty, I probably won't be returning to this CD a great deal in the future as it's nonessential Joke, but it's nevertheless good to give these mid/late-80's mixes the chance of an outing after so long.
One hopes that a comprehensive compilation of all KJ's B-sides, EP and non-album tracks (in their original versions) is in the pipeline, which could undoubtedly result in a double-CD of truly great music. In the meantime, if you're not a die-hard fan, then this probably is'nt for you, but for the rest of us Jokesters this still remains an interesting if not altogether inspiring diversion.
