Product Description

"If you love the Mersey, buy this book and take those walks, soaking up the knowledge and wonder of this once-again living river." - David Bellamy OBE

About the Author

The author has worked as a journalist for more than 30 years and has travelled the world as an ecologist concerned with river improvements. He has an obvious love of the River Mersey, a love which ensures that these walks have a unique appeal, not just because of his local knowledge, but because of his ability to draw comparisons with other great rivers of the world.

This is an ideal book listing some lovely local walks. The walks are detailed as to how long they are, good details of the route and most of them are circular.
Great ideas for few hours out on a nice afternoon. Spike Island is one of my kids favourite - the walk is along the side of the merseys and the canal so take some bread for the ducks and there is a small playground with a zip wire, the views are lovely all good fun and free!
