Product Description

The Rivers of Heaven is the story of Sebastian, a young magazine photographer from a broken home; Stella, a single mother struggling to make ends meet; and Stella's newborn son, Kit. While Sebastian dreams of returning to a Cotswold cottage where he was once happy, Stella yearns for the boyfriend who has deserted her, and Kit remembers his previous existence in heaven. Is the need to recapture the past a noble or a destructive instinct - and can it ever be realised, or escaped?

5.0 out of 5 stars customer review of Rivers of Heaven, 6 Nov 2009
"I enjoyed this book enormously. The characters are developed and vivid, the dialogue well paced , and the double plot that weaves itself throughout the book, like a flowing river, keeps the reader in a state of enjoyable tension up to the very end to discover the outcome. The stakes are high; a child's life and justice for the son of an errant father. I look forward to reading more books by this author."

5.0 out of 5 stars A really great read, 3 Nov 2009
By Martello (Dublin) - See all my reviews
'Rivers of Heaven' focuses on the lives of a number of very different individuals including idealistic photographer Sebastian and Kit, a baby with mystical powers of perception. The plot centers on Sebastian's attempts to reclaim his past by acquiring the holiday cottage of his childhood. The characters and their mainly dysfunctional relationships are described with insight and humor and are thoroughly engaging. If you feel at all nostalgic about the Woodstock era you will love this lyrical tribute to its memory.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new voice and a splendid story, 19 Oct 2009
By The Cloak (Ireland) - See all my reviews
A sharply written novel, easy to read, and quite addictive - very hard to put down - A wonderful twist at the end, and not a book that will leave you feeling depressed about the human condition!
