Product Description

A remarkable account of Lama Jampa Thaye's spiritual career. The River of Memory explains how Lama Jampa entered the dharma, his teachers, the teachings he has received and his activity in spreading the dharma in the West. Accounts such as this are extremely important to the preservation of the purity of the Buddhist tradition as they enable students to verify the authenticity of a teacher's qualifications and so develop confidence.

5.0 out of 5 stars A trustworthy evidence, 27 Jan 2006

This review is from: River of Memory: Dharma Chronicles (Hardcover)
Lama Jampa is a remarkable teacher, whose understanding and experience of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition is extremely deep. He has had the good fortune to receive teachings from the greatest Tibetan Lamas of the 20-th century and his own practice has led him to be appointed Dharma regent of Karma Thinley Rinpoche. As such, Lama Jampa is quite unique among the few qualified western Buddhist teachers.
This book should be read by everyone interested in Tibetan Buddhism.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bodhi mind, 23 Mar 2006
By A Customer
This review is from: River of Memory: Dharma Chronicles (Hardcover)
Lama Jampa is a man who carries the truth in his heart and conveys it in a way that is uncomplicated and selfless.
I recommend any of his books. However, it is better to see him in the flesh. (At the Kagyu Ling or his teachings)

His depth is an ocean and his light is like a moonlit sky.
Like Chogyam Trumpa his message you will never forget.
His diligence and knowledge and zeal are displayed and somehow
they, like a hidden diamond in your coat will reveal and rub
off on you.
